Mixed semi tropical forest with some teak just below the Himalayan foothills about 60kms from Siliguri and Bagdogra airport, so a good start or finish to a tour and worth at least two nights stay with good accommodation available. Permission is needed to enter the National Park, where there are hides and it is possible to see Indian Rhino here.

Selected sightings: Blue throated and Lineated Barbet, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Greater and Lesser Yellownape, Greater and Himalayan Flameback, Rufous Woodpecker, Oriental Pied and Great Hornbill, Long tailed Broadbill, Green-billed Malkoha, Sultan Tit, Grey-headed, Fish Eagle, Black Baza, Collared Falconet, Blue-tailed and Blue-bearded Bee-Eater, Lesser Adjutant, Cinnamon Bittern, Grey-headed Lapwing, Black Ibis, Brown Fish Owl, Red Jungle Fowl, Mountain and Green Imperial Pigeon, Abbot’s and Spot Throated Babbler, Streaked Spiderhunter, Blue-eared and Stork-billed Kingfisher, Scaly-bellied Tesia.
