Road from Bagdogra Airport to Darjeeling

Sal forest before reaching the Himalayan foothills then mixed woodland up to Darjeeling situated at an altitude of 2130 meters and a good first base from which to explore the area.

Selected sightings: Long-tailed Broadbill, Crow-billed Drongo, Great Pied Hornbill, Dollarbird, River Lapwing, Chestnut-headed Bee-Eater, Thick-billed Green Pigeon.
