Risyap
Situated about 4 miles west of Lava and with difficult four-wheel drive access from the Kalimpong road, but worth the effort, good accommodation in a beautiful setting and with good birding in mixed forest with some bamboo on both the hillside above the village and on the good walking trail to Lava.
Selected sightings: Grey-bellied Tesia, Blue-winged and Striated Laughingthrush, Asian Emerald Cuckoo, Sapphire, Pale Blue and Pygmy Flycatchers, Bay Woodpecker, Lesser Shortwing, Black-winged Cuckoo-Shrike, Red-faced Liochila, Spot-winged Grosbeak, Yellow-bellied Flowerpecker, Cutia and Golden Babbler.
