Introduction
Singalila Ridge South
Goecha La
Singalila Ridge North
North Sikkim

Image

North Bengal and Sikkim offer some of the best trekking in the Himalayas. For many years, entry into Sikkim was restricted, so trekking here has not yet become as commercialised as in neighbouring Nepal. There are some trekking lodges, but in other places, it is necessary to camp. All the treks described below take you to high points offering magnificent views of Kanchenjunga. From points on the Singalila ridge it is also possible to see the mountains of Nepal including Everest, as well as the distant peaks of Bhutan.
All treks in Sikkim require a permit which can usually be acquired locally, (see section on permits and visas).
All itineraries are described with Darjeeling as starting point
